Angkana Hotel Bungalows: a quiet-looking bay with important room differences

An adults-only Nai Wok base near Thong Sala, where the shallow water and bathroom layout matter as much as the view.

Choose Nai Wok with realistic swimming expectations

Angkana Hotel Bungalows is an adults-only property in Nai Wok, near Thong Sala on Koh Phangan. Bungalow accommodation, a shared pool and a restaurant are listed features. The garden photographs show separate buildings beneath palms; they do not establish a sea view from every unit.

The bay’s shallow water is an important distinction. Emily’s January 2026 report found it too shallow for swimming, although the guest enjoyed the pool. If swimming directly from the beach is central to your plans, ask about conditions and tides rather than judging by the coastal setting alone.

Room position and bathroom privacy vary

Emily described bungalow 2 as clean and comfortable, with working air conditioning and a warm shower, but noted a bamboo bathroom divider rather than a fully separate room. Brian’s March 2026 account also mentioned a toilet without full enclosure. Confirm the exact layout if sharing with someone who needs more privacy.

In June 2026, Juliette described a hot rear garden room with little breeze and paid to move to a front sea-view bungalow. That account makes room position a meaningful booking question. A front view should be requested and confirmed through the category, rather than inferred from the property name.

Check access and any nearby work

Barney’s June 2026 report liked the grounds and staff but mentioned noise from nearby jetty construction. Treat that as a dated experience and ask about the situation during your travel dates.

A September 2026 Tripadvisor account by lyng enjoyed a front room’s view and helpful staff, and found a new bridge useful for reaching the port and town. This gives Angkana appeal for travellers wanting a bungalow setting with access to Thong Sala. Confirm the walking route, room position and bathroom separation before choosing it.
